SGS is expanding its secure, multi-lingual, web-based TransitNet services in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to capture and monitor transit declarations, and establish guarantees to significantly reduce elapsed transit times.

In December 2017, SGS began collaborating with the Russians Customs Union territory. The emerging client center in Belarus successfully performed its first transit from Poland to Moscow, entering the EAEU through the Belarus border. This first success is paving the way for new services between the European Customs Union and the Russian Customs Union.

TransitNet is an enhanced and electronic alternative to existing paper systems. It is the first and only solution that enables the transport and logistics industry to submit an electronic customs transit declaration, together with a financial guarantee covering their liability for customs debt.

TransitNet ensures open transits from 15 countries over Europe, Serbia, Turkey and the Russian Customs Union to 37 destination countries.

Faster and cheaper than other road transit services, TransitNet avoids the need for individual operators to deposit transit guarantees either in favor of SGS client centers or customs. It provides customs with advanced information and conforms to requirements in the NCTS and EAEU territories, facilitating faster border crossing and rapid release for transit.
