SGS Oil, Gas and Chemicals Services has launched a new testing facility, dedicated to Oil Condition Monitoring (OCM), in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico.

The new laboratory will provide a complete range of OCM services for many industries, including oil and gas, power generation, mining, aviation, transportation, seaports, building maintenance and construction. It will use SGS's Global OCM LIMS system, Sofi@, to gather and analyze data on engines and other equipment around the world.

OCM, the analysis of used oil and other lubricants, is a cost effective means of ensuring plant and asset reliability. Through regular monitoring, potential problems are detected before they appear. This increases asset uptime and enhances profitability by minimizing operating losses due to unexpected asset failure.

SGS has been delivering OCM services for 40 years. We have the largest network of independent OCM laboratories in the world, with 34 laboratories analyzing more than 1,200,000 samples in multiple sectors: marine, transportation, industrial, energy, mining, public works, railway, aviation and more.
