SGS SA Manufacturers and importers of refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, washing machines, electric motors and lighting products that intend to bring such products to the South Arabian market need to comply with SASO regulations.
Royal Decree No M/10 dated AH 1392-03-03 established SASO as a judicial body. A board of directors, headed by H.E. the Minister of Commerce, consisting of representatives of the major sectors affected, outlined the general policy of SASO regarding standardization in the Kingdom.
SASO has announced Energy Efficiency Labeling Regulations to show the energy efficiency of refrigerators (including the refrigerator and/or freezer function), as well as air conditioners, washing machines, electric motors and lighting products.

Through the SASO EER Registration process manufactures and importers need to show their products comply with the following standards:

SASO EER certifications are valid for one year from the issuing date.

For Electric Motors, the rated efficiency and the code of IE-Nominal limits (%) (IE, International Energy-efficiency Class) shall be durably marked on the rating plate, for example 'IE2 - 84,0 %'.
