RobecoSAM, a specialist in sustainability investing, has awarded SGS with its Gold Class sustainability award, in recognition of the company's performance on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices in 2017.

This is the fourth consecutive year that RobecoSAM has recognized SGS's excellent sustainability performance.

The Gold Class award is given to companies with scores within one percent of the score of the top company in its industry. It qualifies SGS for inclusion in RobecoSAM's 2018 Sustainability Yearbook, the world's most comprehensive publication on corporate sustainability.

RobecoSAM has compiled one of the largest databases on corporate sustainability, based on its corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), which assesses company's responses to industry-specific questions focusing on economic, environmental and social factors that are relevant to their success. 2473 companies from 60 different industries were assessed in 2017. The results of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices and membership in the Sustainability Yearbook are determined by the CSA.
