SGS is pleased to announce the opening of a new fully equipped laboratory in Busan, Korea, for the analysis of coal, coke and solid biofuels.

The new Busan laboratory is strategically located to service the growing needs of solid energy fuels and coke importers and consumers in Korea. The completion of this laboratory will mean significantly reduced turnaround for clients and in-country analysis performed in accordance with ISO, ASTM and CEN standards.

In conjunction with our existing analytical capabilities, the new laboratory will enable SGS in Korea to provide the following tests to the industry:

  • Proximate Analysis
  • Ultimate Analysis (C, H, N)
  • Gross Calorific Value and calculation of Net Calorific Value
  • Sulphur
  • Chlorine
  • Ash Fusion Temperatures
  • Major and Minor Elements in ash (XRF)
  • Trace Elements (ICP)
  • Hardgrove Grindability Index
  • Sieve Analysis
