SGS Societe Generale de Surveillance : Paper in Beijing Focused on the Challenges Faced by Investors in the Customs Union

This year, the "AccEssMeeting CHINA-RUSSIA 2015: Annual Investment Road Show" took place on 28-29 May in Sofitel Wanda Hotel in Beijing. The Chinese delegates of the Investment Road Show included representatives of the largest corporations, investment funds, financial institutions and organizations for development.

One of the sessions of the Road Show business program was devoted to China investments in Russia's regional projects as well as to export of China equipment and technologies to Russia. SGS presented major technical risks faced by investors and EPC-contractors when implementing industrial projects in Russia and described the pro's and contra's for the various approaches to certification in the framework of large investment projects.

During the last few years SGS has been successful in providing integrated services to investors and EPC-contractors within large industrial projects in the field of energy, petrochemical and other industries, assisting clients to assure the conformity of imported process equipment with mandatory requirements of the Customs Union's countries while optimizing certification costs. Taking into account the single platform in permitting procedures in the countries-members of the Customs Union, the SGS approach has already more than once proved its effectiveness within industrial projects implemented not only in Russia, but also in Belarus and Kazakhstan.
