HomeNews CenterANOR Appoints SGS to Deliver PECAE Services on Imports to Cameroon

April 14, 2016

On April 7, 2016, SGS signed a contract with the Ministry of Mines, Industry and Technological Development in Cameroon, for the provision of Pre-shipment Evaluation of Conformity (PECAE) services, to complement the existing Customs Modernization Program.

Under the PECAE program, which will be managed by Cameroon's Agence des Normes et de la Qualite (ANOR), a list of products considered high risk will require verification and testing at country of supply/export and a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) prior to their import. This will demonstrate that they meet all the applicable standards and technical regulations, and it is the exporter's responsibility to provide evidence of such compliance.

The PECAE program does not replace, but complements, the current program securing Customs Revenues and operated by SGS.

The commencement date of the program will be communicated in the coming days.
