SGS is pleased to announce the acquisition of SpecHub Inc., headquartered in Panama City with a laboratory in Isla Telfers, Colon.

SpecHub offers an extensive array of accredited inspection and testing services for the maritime and energy generation industry with a focus on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) inspections and analysis.

Founded in 2005 and privately owned, the company is expected to generate 2016 revenues in excess of USD 0.5 million.

This acquisition will complement the SGS Oil, Gas and Chemicals offering in Panama and will position SGS as the market leader in the marine fuel and LPG testing and inspection markets.

'Following the expansion of the Panama Canal and the designation of Colon as Panama's energy generation hub, this acquisition will strengthen our position in this strategic and fast growing market,' said Frankie Ng, CEO of SGS.
