SGS is pleased to announce three key appointments within the Minerals Services business in Mexico.

Shaun Compton is appointed Minerals Business Manager, Mexico. Since 1988, Shaun has held laboratory and business management positions for SGS and other companies globally in the minerals sector. His expertise in productivity improvement, quality control and business development will help to guide the success of the overall business in Mexico.

Luis Prado is appointed Technical Manager, Trade Services. He has over 30 years of experience working in the Peruvian trade business, most recently as the Technical Manger in Lima. Luis' expertise and experience in trade services are an excellent addition to SGS' team in Mexico.

Hernán Narvarte is appointed Commercial Manager, Trade Services. A recent business graduate, he has been with SGS for 3 years and has already seen opportunities in a number of SGS' businesses. Hernán's knowledge and capability are a great asset to the Minerals Services group in Mexico.

In their new roles, Shaun will be responsible for leading the growth and development of the Minerals Services business and Luis and Hernán will be responsible for managing and expanding the trade services business line in Mexico. With exceptional backgrounds in laboratory, trade and business management, Shaun, Luis and Hernán will work with the strong geochemical management team that is in place to bring a wealth of experience and skills to the Minerals Services team.

SGS's preparation and on-site laboratories in Guerrero, its commercial geochemical laboratory in Durango and the numerous trade services facilities along the West Coast provide strategic support for the growing needs of the exploration and mining industry in Mexico and the surrounding region. These facilities complement SGS's unique network of over 150 commercial and on-site laboratories and port-based facilities around the world.
