Traders Hotel Shenyang today rebrands as Hotel Jen Shenyang, becoming the first property in Northeast China to adopt the new Hotel Jen brand by Shangri-La International Hotel Management Ltd. Catering to a new "Jeneration" of independently minded business and leisure travellers, the brand is rolling out quickly in major cities in Asia Pacific. The launch today in mainland China is a significant milestone and highlights Shangri-La's long-term commitment to the China market.

The Hotel Jen brand is inspired by virtual persona Jen, a professional hotelier who loves life, travel and the adventure of discovering new places. Hotel Jen takes care of guests with efficiency and care while giving them informed access to the best a destination has to offer. Hotel Jen provides travellers greater flexibility to blend the boundaries between business and leisure.

Mr. Greg Dogan, president and CEO of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, said: "The opening of Hotel Jen Shenyang is a significant milestone in our on-going roll-out plans to launch Hotel Jen across the region.

"As a key city in northeast China, Shenyang represents the next stage in our overall strategy to launch the Hotel Jen brand in the second city in mainland China and in nine key gateway cities across Asia Pacific by April 2015.

"True to the new brand, the Hotel Jen Shenyang team are embracing the changing demands of today's more independently minded travellers; who seek simple pleasures, easy efficiencies and the opportunity to indulge their sense of adventure."

Mr. Larry Lv, general manager of Hotel Jen Shenyang, added: "The rebrand to Hotel Jen will set new standards for guest experiences, which shows in the changing demands of today's customers, both the new and 'millennial' mind-set and the increasingly socially enabled 'young-at-heart' existing customer. It is a revolution and all about changing our approach, starting at the very heart of our hotel - our staff. Hotel Jen will still bring guests the same level of quality as before, but now with a more intuitive service attitude and relaxed, friendly style."

Hotel Jen Shenyang has an ideal location in Shenyang's Central Business District, the capital city of Liaoning Province and the political and commercial hub of Northeast China. The hotel is well positioned in the prosperous commercial area of downtown Shenyang. The airport is 30 minutes away, and Shenyang Railway Station and Subway Line 1 is a five-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is a perfect choice for business travellers and for hosting meetings, banquets and conventions. Hotel Jen Shenyang offers guests dedicated service with versatile efficiency and great value. Zhao Mausoleum, Fu Mausoleum and the Imperial Palace, three famous World Cultural Heritage sites in Shenyang, allow guests to immerse themselves in the history of the city.

The hotel builds on its existing heritage and the staff's local knowledge to deliver the new brand to guests. An informed and friendly service style will allow guests to discover the best of where they are through unique recommendations, from cultural spots, local cuisines and new places to off-the-beaten-track locations. An unparalleled local knowledge, reflective of the brand's 25-year heritage, means the Hotel Jen team will be the guests' own personal local lifestyle guide, making them truly feel like they are staying with a friend.

Embracing the concept of 'staying with a friend', guests will notice the extra touches on the in-room and restaurant dining options, which feature fresh local products selected for flavour, fusion and fun. For added convenience, the hotel features a vending machine with beverage and snack items priced at convenience-store levels and a 'Grab&Go' deli counter offering quick meal solutions.

Cutting-edge technology is also key to catering to the highly social, young-at-heart traveller. Free WiFi everywhere, all the time and convenient mobile charging stations throughout the hotel are some of the many features on offer at Hotel Jen Shenyang. In addition, simple pleasures, such as a laundry wash-and-fold service for unlimited items in the laundry bag at one price, complimentary fruit-infused waters and signature iced teas in summer and free coffee and snack-box-to-go options after breakfast allow guests to get on with the things they care about most - life, travel and discovery.

Guest comfort and safety are an absolute priority and there will be no compromise on existing, high-quality standards.

In the next phase of the hotel roll-out, Traders Hotel, Puteri Harbour, Johor, Bahru will rebrand to Hotel Jen on April 1st 2015, marking the final hotel in the first phase of the brand launch and rebranding of nine Traders Hotels to Hotel Jen.

About Hotel Jen's Chinese name

今旅
Today - Travel
Jen, a lover of life, fun, adventure and discovery, wanted a Chinese name to reflect that. 'Jin' (today) is about the importance of living every day to its fullest, in the moment, and Lü (travel) represents the idea that life is about exploring new cultures, experiences and ways of being you.

Together, the characters inspire others to 'travel today', so why not be a little spontaneous? Jen can't wait to host you.
