Sherwin Williams : Opens 100th Chicagoland Store

Officials to Celebrate New Store in Chicago-Bucktown Neighborhood with Pro Hockey Hall-of-Famer Denis Savard and Local Community

CHICAGO (November 9, 2016) - To continue a year of growth for Sherwin-Williams, the company reaches a new milestone in its 150-year history today with the opening of its 100th Chicagoland retail store, located at 1654 N. Western Ave. in the Bucktown neighborhood. The specialty retailer of paint and painting supplies is commemorating the occasion with notable leaders from Sherwin-Williams, store employees and city officials for an official opening ceremony and remarks. To celebrate the opening, Sherwin-Williams is offering 40 percent off paints and stains and 30 percent off painting supplies at all of its Chicagoland stores Nov. 9 through Nov. 13, and the 100th store in Bucktown is hosting an autograph signing with Chicago Blackhawks legend and pro hockey Hall-of-Famer, Denis Savard.

'The grand opening of the 100th Sherwin-Williams Chicagoland store is a landmark occasion for our company, as we've been part of this great city for more than 85 years,' said Jay Davisson, executive president and general manager of Sherwin-Williams. The new store offers a wide selection of high-quality Sherwin-Williams paints and stains, the new ColorSnap Studio color wall to simplify color selection and expert advice on finding the right products for the job. It will also support painting professionals with job site delivery, custom color matching, in-home color consultations, specification assistance and technical advice.

In an effort to show continued commitment to local organizations and residents across the nation, Sherwin-Williams is teaming up with Make-A-Wish Illinois by giving a donation to support children like Charlie, a three-year-old undergoing cancer treatment. Charlie wishes to go to San Diego to learn about the colorful marine life at the aquarium, zoo and beaches. Make-A-Wish will grant Charlie's wish as the family embarks on their journey this November.

Opening festivities for the new Sherwin-Williams store will begin at 10 a.m. with a grand opening ribbon cutting that includes Sherwin-Williams executives and local officials. Speakers include:

• Jay Davisson, executive president and general manager, Sherwin-Williams
• Pete Ippolito, president and general manager of Midwestern Division, Sherwin-Williams
• Pamela McNeal, president of the board, Wicker Park-Bucktown Chamber of Commerce
• A representative from Make-A-Wish Illinois
• Denis Savard will be at the new store location from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. to sign autographs and talk with fans.
