Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation : receives decision from the Supreme Court of Canada on the prohibition on private label generic drug products in the Province of Ontario

TORONTO, Nov. 22, 2013/CNW/ - Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation (TSX: SC) today announced that the Supreme Court of Canadahas upheld the December 23, 2011decision of the Court of Appeal of Ontariothat restored the prohibition on private label generic drug products in the Province of Ontario, which was subsequent to a decision of the OntarioDivisional Court dated February 3, 2011that declared the regulatory restrictions in respect of private label generic drug products to be invalid.

While the Company respects the decision of the Supreme Court of Canada, it is disappointed with the outcome.
