SDK Gains Approval for Extension of Annual Securities Report Deadline
Showa Denko (SDK) (TOKYO: 4004) today gained approval to extend the deadline for submission of its annual securities report in accordance with paragraph 3, Article 15-2 of Cabinet Office Ordinance on Disclosure of Corporate Affairs. This follows SDK's application based on paragraph 1, Article 15-2 of the ordinance as announced in the news release of March 27, 2017 entitled "SDK to Apply for Extension of Deadline for Annual Securities Report." We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to our shareholders, investors, and other parties concerned.

Deadline before extension Friday, March 31, 2017
Deadline after extension Monday, May 1, 2017
Schedules
We will submit the annual securities report for the 108th business term by Monday, May 1, 2017 (the deadline after extension) by quickly preparing the report and undergoing an audit by relevant auditing corporation. We will be able to submit an amendment of prior-year annual securities report by the same deadline in case such amendment becomes necessary.
