Alstom said Friday that its merger with the mobility division of German industrial company Siemens could be delayed until the first half of 2019.
"Due to extended pre-filing preparations and data gathering efforts in multiple countries, a resulting delay of a few months leading to a closing date during first half of calendar year 2019 cannot be excluded," the French train maker said in a statement.
Alstom outlined the possible delay as it said it has filed a joint application with Siemens for merger-control clearance with the European Commission. The companies agreed to the merger in September 2017.
