Felix Bloch and Edward Mills Purcell - They laid the technical foundations for magnetic resonance imaging (Nobel Prize in Physics in1952)


Siemens used magnetic resonance imaging to study plastics in a special research lab


Modern MRI technology is considered to have been born: Chemist Paul C. Lauterbur and Physicist Sir Peter Mansfield were the first to make it possible to visualize

a fluid-filled object (Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2003)


Siemens was the first company in the world to install a commercial magnetic resonance imaging system for clinical applications, the Magnetom.
