Taobao Marketplace Southeast Asia Launches Self Pick-up Service at POPStation with SingPost

Service to more than 70 POPStations in Singapore

Singapore, 20 October 2014 - Taobao Marketplace Southeast Asia (sea.taobao.com) has launched a Self Pick-up Service with Singapore Post (SingPost) as a speedy and convenient logistics solution for local consumers. The launch of this service illustrates the platform's commitment to improving the user experience for consumers in Singapore and SingPost's continued expansion to cater to the growing needs of e-commerce. With more than 70 POPStations deployed within Singapore, the service allows local consumers to pick up their parcels at a preferred time and location at their convenience.

This new service option is in addition to the current option for convenient door-to-door delivery. Now, local consumers who purchase goods from sellers on Taobao Marketplace can also select the POPStation service option through the platform to indicate their Self Pick-up preference for their purchases from more than 70 locations provided by SingPost.
Said Ms. Lim Ann Nee, Senior Vice President of Singapore Parcels at SingPost: "We are very excited with this partnership with Taobao Marketplace, who obviously is very committed to their customers, and is offering them another convenient channel to receive their online purchases. POPStation is a very popular delivery option as it offers secure and convenient 24/7 access for parcel collection, at no extra cost."
She added: "Responding to feedback from POPStation customers, SingPost has also recently introduced 'Pay upon collection' for cashless payment via Nets and ezylink for purchases that have arrived at the POPStation lockers, and also Post@POPStation for customers to post their items via the secure smart lockers. And we have made it even more convenient for customers to use POPStation with the introduction of new features including remote locker access via the "Air Unlock" mobile app."

"We are grateful for the support of SingPost which allows us to provide a convenient, localized service for our Singaporean consumers in locations across the city," said Mr. Simon Qi, Director, International B2C Division, Taobao International. "We will continue to collaborate in different forms and areas to further improve our platform services and enhance customer satisfaction among local shoppers."
The first million orders using the International Parcel Forwarding Service during the
11.11 Shopping Festival sales promotion this year in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong
Kong and Taiwan will receive their first 1kg order for only RMB2. Information on the
11.11 Shopping Festival promotion can be found at http://1111.sea.taobao.com/http://1111.sea.taobao.com.
This Self Pick-Up at POPStation partnership is the first in-depth collaboration between SingPost and Taobao Marketplace Southeast Asia since Alibaba Group invested S$312.5 million in SingPost as part of a "strategic cooperation" aimed at improving the efficiency of cross-border e-commerce. The participation of the partners in this latest delivery option further enhances service efficiency and the quality of shopping experiences for Singaporean users.
