Singapore, 5 February 2012 - Following the launch of the
online PDF version of Lianhe Zaobao in January, the Chinese
flagship newspaper of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) has
launched its iPad PDF version. Users will be able to enjoy
the free trial of the iPad PDF app from 6 February till 8
March.
iPad users will need to download the application via the
Apple iTunes App Store by searching for "Lianhe Zaobao
PDF".
Lianhe Zaobao first launched its Web App for both iPad and
Android tablets in December last year. This was followed by
its online PDF version in January.
Whether it is via a computer or iPad, the PDF version
offers readers access to all news pages of the Chinese
daily, including sections of the print version such as
local news, China news, world news, business, sports,
commentaries, as well as zbNOW, the lifestyle section of
Lianhe Zaobao.
In addition to each day's news, readers will have
access to past seven days of the product as a value added
service.
Mr Goh Sin Teck, Editor of Lianhe Zaobao, said:
"Making Lianhe Zaobao available on PDF, Web App and
iPad App allows its content to be distributed to a bigger
audience. It has helped to fulfil the newspaper's
vision of combining both print and digital platforms, and
takes the standard of journalism to a higher
level."
Dr Zhou Zhao Cheng, Editor of Zaobao.com, said:
"Digital media is no longer restricted to online news
websites. The use of mobile platforms enables our news
product to improve its connectivity with our readers. Using
multiple digital platforms allows us to showcase the varied
and rich content of Lianhe Zaobao to its full
advantage."
Apart from the latest iPad PDF version, the free trial till
8 March also applies to the online PDF and Web App versions
which were launched earlier.
Users who are not on iPad can access the PDF version via
www.zaobao.com.sg. Click on the display advertisement and
start to enjoy reading the PDF version.
