Singapore, 23 March 2017- Her World, Singapore's No. 1 women's magazine, and its award-winning online women's portal herworldPLUS, will co-organise the fourth annual Her World Young Woman Achiever event on 25 March.

In honour of International Women's Day, this year's event is themed 'Define Your Own Success'. It aims to inspire young women to dare to dream, pave their own way and break boundaries in life, work and business.

For the first time, the signature forum introduces an art market and workshops. To reflect this year's expanded focus, the event has been renamed Her World Young Woman Achiever Social (YWAS).

The highlight of YWAS is the forum, where successful Singapore women share the secrets of their success and inspire other young women to pursue their passions.

The first panel session will focus on women and motivation, and explore the ways in which women can stay focused on their goals while juggling a busy and demanding life. The three panellists are Shanti Pereira, gold medallist in the women's 200m race at the 2015 SEA Games, Qin Yunquan, CEO and chief instructor at Kapap Acadamy Singapore, and Pamela Chng, founder of Bettr Barista Coffee Academy.

The second panel session looks at women in business. Participants will get to hear the stories from successful women entrepreneurs who will delve into what it takes to start and grow a business, the challenges they faced and how they overcame them. The panellists are Amanda Eng,marketing and buying director at Naiise,Carolyn Kan, founder of Carrie K., Gina Heng, co-founder and CEO of Marvelstone Group, and Nichol Ng, managing director of FoodXervices Inc. and co-founder of The Food Bank Singapore.

Penelope Chan, Executive Editor of Her World, said: 'Success is no longer defined in narrow, traditional terms: how well you do in school, how much money you make and whether you marry well. Modern women now have infinite paths to success. I hope the Her World Young Woman Achiever Social inspires young women to dream big and loud, passionately and proudly. We want them to come away from the event feeling hopeful and confident that their dreams and goals are achievable and ultimately, that they are already carving out their own definitions of success.'

Eugene Quek, Associate Editor of herworldPLUS, added: 'This informal pow-wow will inspire participants to work that tiny bit harder to become go-getters ahead of the game. My hope is that our everyday women warriors will leave the event feeling empowered and raring to make a mark on society, no matter how modest.'

Her World has collaborated with The Local People to organise the art market and workshops.

The art market will feature products that are made in Singapore or designed by Singaporeans, from a curated selection of vendor-entrepreneurs. Products include organic skincare, handmade jewellery, candles, leather bags and accessories, 3-D printed brooches, illustrations, as well as freshly pressed juices, Thai iced tea and finger food. Some products will be exclusive to YWAS.

YWAS participants are also invited to register for the small-group workshops. Priced from $75 to $90 per person, the workshops include: soap-making with Rough Beauty, leather crafting with Maketh Project; flower arrangement with Liora Florist; and printmaking with The Studio Press.
