Singapore, 3 February 2016- The annual Hospitality Investment Conference Indonesia (HICI) 2016 will be back for the second time in Jakarta from 28to 29 April. HICP 2016 is a part of the Asia-focused Hospitality Investment series organised by Sphere Conferences, the conference arm of Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH).

With the continued support from the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia since its inception in 2015, HICI has established itself as the networking and business opportunity platform for local and regional hospitality businesses in Indonesia. HICI also serves as one of the Ministry's channels of engaging key stakeholders for in in-depth discussions revolving pertinent challenges and prospects of the Indonesian market.

In its efforts to increase international visitor numbers, the Indonesian government's immediate plans are granting foreign investors full ownership of their tourism-related businesses, offer visa-free entry status to an increasing number of nationalities, as well as promote new tourism destinations outside of Jakarta and Bali.

Mr Agus Priyono, Assistant Deputy of Tourism Industry, Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, said: 'This is to boost investment in tourism, which is one of our priority sectors at the moment.'

With the Ministry's commitment to bringing Indonesia's arrival numbers up to speed vis-à-vis its neighbours', and the current rising trend in both international and domestic tourism, one can expect a corresponding increase in the demand for rooms and hospitality services in the archipelago, which bodes well for the hospitality sector.

Ms Patricia Cheong, General Manager of Sphere Conferences said: 'With content that is highly relevant to the hospitality investment landscape in Indonesia, HICI 2016 will be the perfect platform for senior hospitality leaders to exchange ideas and collaborate in one of the most active locations in the region.'

HICI 2016 will gather more than 200 leading property developers, operators, owners, investors, financiers, regulators, legal professionals and other stakeholders over the two-day conference.
