Singapore, 6 December 2016- Lianhe Zaobao will be launching 'It Matters - The Future of Us', a 5-episode talk show on StarHub TV (E City CH111/825) and zaobao.sgtonight. The Chinese talk show is produced in conjunction with the plans by the Committee on the Future Economy (CFE) to finalise its recommendations and release its final report in January 2017. The CFE is set up to keep the Singapore economy competitive by helping to position Singapore for the future, as well as identify areas of growth with regard to regional and global developments. 'It Matters - The Future of Us' will feature political office-holders, business representatives, academics and field experts who will discuss different aspects of Singapore's future economy. Each episode, which is approximately 30-minutes in duration, will be aired every Tuesdayat 9.30pm. Lianhe Zaobao will follow up with news stories on the issues discussed the following day. In the first episode which will be aired tonight, Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on the Future Economy, will lead the discussion by sharing his thoughts on the challenges and opportunities the Singapore economy faces moving ahead. Mr Chan will be joined by four other panelists, including Ms Janet Ang, Vice President, Industry Solutions, Systems of Engagement & Smarter Cities of IBM Asia Pacific; Mr Max Loh, Managing Partner Singapore and Asean of EY; Ms Ngo Min Ying, Global Head, Priority Banking Segment of Standard Chartered Bank, as well as Mr Goh Sin Teck, Editor of Lianhe Zaobao. The other four episodes will focus on globalisation strategy, digital economy, jobs and skills, and future city infrastructure. Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State for Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and Trade and Industry; Dr Koh Poh Koon, Minister of State for Ministry of National Development, and Trade and Industry, as well as Ms Low Yen Ling, Parliamentary Secretary for Education, and Trade and Industry, will join the discussions in subsequent episodes. Mr Goh Sin Teck, Editor of Lianhe Zaobao, said: 'The future direction of the Singapore economy matters to each and every one, including corporates, workers and students.
