Singapore, 2 August 2016- Sphere Conferences, the conference arm of Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH), together with the Myanmar Tourism Federation, today launched the fourth edition of the Myanmar Hospitality and Tourism Conference (MHTC) 2016. The two-day conference will be held from 2-3 Augustat Park Royal Yangon, Myanmar.

The event's Guest of Honour, Director General, U Tint Thwin will share his insights on Myanmar's hospitality sector in his keynote address.

MHTC brings together regional and local investors, hospitality leaders, industry experts and government officials, giving the delegates an opportunity to network, learn about the latest developments in Myanmar, share expertise, make business pitches and secure future deals.
The main focus for this year's event is on investment opportunities in Myanmar. With many still largely undeveloped areas - the likes of Myiek Archipelago - Myanmar continues to remain attractive to the international community, holding potential and offering investors opportunities that have yet to be tapped onto. However, the lack of infrastructure in these areas can potentially slow down their development. More needs to be done to attract investments into these destinations, and to ultimately boost investor confidence.

MHTC 2016 is therefore timely, where both the local and foreign community can have these ongoing discussions. Major topics that would be deliberated at the conference include:

- Into the new era - the investment landscape
- Exploring the various destinations in Myanmar
- Identifying the various market segments
- Myanmar's heritage and façade of hospitality
- Creating a lucrative hotel business model
The potential of MHTC 2016 and Myanmar as market is made evident by the presence of local and regional key industry players like Accor, Aureum Group, D3 Capital, Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, Horwath HTL - Asia Pacific, Hardrock International, Inle Princess Resort, Moevenpick Hotels & Resorts, Myanmar Investments International, Myat Min Co., Pan Pacific Hotel Group, Savills, Strand Hotel and Cruise and many more.

Ms. Patricia Cheong, General Manager of Sphere Conferences, said: 'We are deeply appreciative of the support given by the Myanmar Tourism Federation. Myanmar is one of the world's fastest growing destinations, having attracted about 4.68 million tourists - a sharp increase of 52% in comparison with 2014. We are excited to be a part of its growth in the tourism arena. We are happy to present to you, as a part of our Hospitality Investment Series in 2016 - the 4 annual MHTC, the only hospitality investment conference in Myanmar.'
