Singapore, 24 August 2016- 'Spreading cheer every moment, every day' - this is the concept behind the 'Gamsia365' campaign, a new corporate social responsibility initiative by Singapore Press Holdings' (SPH) Chinese Media Group (CMG).

On 8 September, CMG will be introducing an 'upsized' Chinese news and infotainment website under the refreshed zaobao.sg brand. Managed by CMG Digital, the website will incorporate the content and values of CMG's three flagship papers - Lianhe Zaobao, Lianhe Wanbao, and Shin Min Daily News. In conjunction with the enhanced website, 'Gamsia365' is launched with the aim to encourage and embrace the spirit of showing appreciation to people who make one's day through small gestures.

Ms Han Yong May, Digital Editor of Chinese Media Group and Associate Editor of Lianhe Zaobao. said: 'The enhanced zaobao.sg will encompass the best of Lianhe Zaobao, Lianhe Wanbao and Shin Min Daily News. Over the years, the three publications have reached out to the community through activities like 'Reading with the Community' (陪你看报纸) and 'Zaobao Gives' (早报送暖), and helping the needy and spreading positivity through news reports about kind deeds or civic mindedness.'

'With 'Gamsia365', we wish to remind ourselves and our readers to be appreciative of the little things that people do for you, whether you're in need of help or not. While showing appreciation for others, we hope to encourage people to pay it forward as well. Everyone can help make someone else's day better through small gestures.'

The name 'Gamsia365' was chosen to represent the hyper-local nature of this outreach effort, as the Hokkien phrase 'gamsia' (meaning 'thank you') is a familiar part of our Singlish culture, even to non-Hokkien speakers. Anyone could say 'gamsia' when shown a nice gesture, which could be a stranger offering to share his umbrella on a rainy day, a colleague who holds the door for you when your hands are full, or even the office cleaner who greets you with a smile every morning.

From 24 August, members of the public can join in the 'Gamsia365' effort and show their appreciation for someone by sharing their stories, photos, or videos on http://gamsia365.zaobao.sg, or posting them on Facebook / Instagram with the hashtags #gamsia365 and #早晚好心情.

'Gamsia365' is organised by SPH's Chinese Media Group, and supported by campaign partner Teck Wei Credits, a local motoring service company.
