Globe's cybersecurity service to be enhanced with Trustwave Managed Security Services

Singapore , 2 December, 2015 - Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) and Globe Telecom, Inc. (Globe) through its IT Enabled Services Group, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen Globe's information security capabilities. The partnership leverages Singtel's recent acquisition of Trustwave, a global leading managed security services company that helps businesses fight cybercrime, protect data and reduce security risk.

Globe Managed Security Services will be enhanced with Trustwave's security suite to deliver services in areas such as Vulnerability Assessment, Network Security, Application Security and Content Security, Endpoint Security and Access Control and Security Management.

Mr Bill Chang, Chief Executive Officer, Group Enterprise at Singtel said, 'The frequency and sophistication of cyber attacks and breaches are on the increase across all industries in the Southeast Asian region. About 39% of observed organisations in the Philippines were targeted with advanced cyber attacks in the first half of 2015, above the global average of about 20%(1)'.

Mr Chang added, 'Therefore, it is imperative for businesses to stay one step ahead of such cyber threats. This partnership leverages Globe's intimate understanding of the local landscape, Singtel's experience in providing managed services, and Trustwave's expertise in delivering enterprise-grade managed security services. Together, we will help Philippine companies protect their assets and customers from cybercrime in order to safeguard their reputations.'
