SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES Presents a Fully-Automated Sputtering System for Coating of Three-Dimensional Plastic Components at FIP 2017, Lyon, France

  • NEW! 3D-Substates with a diameter of up to 120 mm and a size of up to 130 mm can be processed
  • Inline sputtering and lacquering production system for flexible production for different 3D-substrates
  • Full turnkey production system from substrate sorting to the finished product available

Kahl am Main, June 12, 2017 - SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG (SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES) will present its POLYCOATER Metallizer, an inline vacuum sputtering production system for a fully automatic coating (sputtering/metallizing) of 3D-plastic parts. This sputtering system can be interlinked with different innovative handling concepts, which also provide the possibility of incorporating additional production modules e.g. lacquering and robot handling systems. SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES will introduce the POLYCOATER sputtering system and the DECOLINE II inline production technology for the fully automated metallizing and lacquering of 3D-plastic components at this year's FIP Solution Plastique in Lyon, France from June 13 - 16, 2017.

The vacuum sputtering as well as all lacquering and pre-processing steps are integrated in a turn-key production process which automatically transports the parts. This technique for the finishing of 3D-components results in considerable cost savings and simplifies logistics. With these solutions, SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES offers the industry a cleaner process and substantial advantages to simplify the production processes.

Vacuum sputtering is a fast and reliable surface treatment method that allows inline production. In contrast to the batch production with evaporation systems, this solution automates the manufacturing process and with its short cycle times and quality controls, it reduces the production costs significantly. By use of UV-lacquers and the ability of recycling, the output of environmentally-burdening emissions is minimized.

With the optimized coating technology, the DECOLINE II inline production technology substantially differentiates itself from traditional coating processes and thus meets all the requirements to revolutionize the conventional product processing of plastic but also of glass and metal components. Amongst others, the inline concept is applicable for the packaging industry (cosmetics, bottle caps), household appliances (oven knobs, control elements, consumer electronics such as smart phone devices and MP3-players), the lighting industry (reflectors, mirrors) as well as two- and three-dimensional components of various kinds.
