NEW YORK, March 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today SiriusXM announced that Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine will host "The Mayor," a limited-run show for SiriusXM Insight (channel 121). The six-week run will begin at 6pm ET on Tuesday, March 8.

On his new program the charismatic, recently re-elected mayor of the dynamic and diverse city of Miami Beach will engage his fellow elected officials in honest discussions about the key issues involved in leading the country's cities and states, with topics ranging from crime to the environment to the underreported challenges of improving infrastructure around the country. He'll also get to know these leaders on a personal level, discovering what drives people to "take the plunge" and seek public office.

"The Mayor" will debut with a bipartisan, roundtable discussion with Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer (D) and Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett (R), as well as a one-on-one conversation with music producer and 19-time Grammy Award winner Emilio Estefan about his beloved hometown of Miami Beach and how both he and wife Gloria Estefan have advocated for keeping music a thriving part of the city's culture. And with the nation's eyes now turning to the all-important swing state of Florida following Super Tuesday, Mayor Levine will also speak with national figures about his home state's crucial role in the 2016 Presidential election.

"'The Mayor' will be a unique show for SiriusXM, and I couldn't think of a better time to launch a program spotlighting our nation's leaders than in the heart of the 2016 election," said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM's President and Chief Content Officer. "Mayor Philip Levine has both big ideas for his SiriusXM show and an equally big personality, and I'm confident his energy and sharp political mind will make 'The Mayor' a true asset to SiriusXM's Talk line-up."

"I'm a huge fan of SiriusXM programming and I'm thrilled to start this new adventure with them," said Mayor Philip Levine. "I want my new show to get listeners excited about the insiders' perspective on everyday government decision-making, as well as the personal side of people who are leaving their footprint on society."

SiriusXM subscribers will also be able to listen to "The Mayor" via SiriusXM On Demand, through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at www.siriusxm.com/player.
