Sirius XM : Nomiki Konst to Host New Political Talk Show On SiriusXM Progress Channel

The Nightly Program - 'The Filter' - Premieres on August 15

NEW YORK, N.Y. - August 11, 2016 - Today SiriusXM announced the launch of 'The Filter' hosted by Nomiki (Nomi) Konst, one of the leaders of the New Progressive movement sweeping the country. The new nightly talk show will premiere on August 15 at 9p.m.-midnight ET on SiriusXM Progress channel 127.

Konst, a former Bernie Sanders surrogate and member of the Democratic National Committee Platform Committee, is also a CBS News Political Contributor and regular on the cable news circuit. At a time when the 2016 presidential campaign is filled with daily distractions, 'The Filter' will hone in on the most salient facts, 'filtering out' the hot air and hype bombarding people from across the media and digital landscapes. Using her singular brand of intelligence and humor, Konst will instead engage her audience on the topics that truly matter.

Nomiki (Nomi) Konst is a political activist and analyst who regularly appears on CNN and Fox News, as well as other media commenting on national politics and elections. She is a political contributor to CBS News and The Hill and the founder of investigative media startup, The Accountability Project. In 2012 at 28-years-old, Konst vied to be the youngest woman ever to serve in Congress, seeking the seat in her hometown of Tucson, AZ that was vacated by Rep. Gabby Giffords. Konst was a national surrogate for Bernie Sanders 2016 and Draft Biden, as well as a 2016 DNC Platform Committee member, a National Co-Chair for Barack Obama's Gen44 re-election effort, and an at-large member of the DNC Council. Aside from electoral politics, Konst has worked on issue advocacy around gun reform, women's issues, anti-fracking, the impending water crisis, environmental reform, and human trafficking. She also worked in democracy assistance in Libya, following the revolution that ousted Col. Gaddafi.
