Press Release Endodontics partnership ‒ cooperation between Sirona, Dentsply and VDW Sirona treatment centers are synonymous with the intelligent integration of functions, including for endodontics. A cooperation with Dentsply Maillefer and VDW, the leading manufacturers of endodontic instruments, got underway in autumn 2014 and has now begun to bear fruit in time for the IDS. 02/27/2015

Bensheim/Salzburg. The companies Sirona Dental Systems, Dentsply Maillefer and VDW have signed an agreement specifying cooperation for the integration of endodontic instruments in treatment centers. As a first product of this cooperation, with WAVEONE® and RECIPROC®, leading reciprocating file systems are available in the TENEO treatment center for the very first time and thus serve to decisively expand endodontic functionality in terms of workflow.

"We are delighted to have entered a partnership with both Dentsply Maillefer and VDW, who boast extensive expertise in the field of endodontics," explained Michael Geil, Vice President of Treatment Centers at Sirona. "The integration of the reciprocating function in the treatment center aids the work of dentists and helps to make the workflow for endodontic treatments even more efficient."
Didier Devaud Marketing Director from Dentsply Maillefer added, "We are pleased to enable more dentists worldwide to access our unique reciprocating technology offering unsurpassed simplicity and safety, with seamless integration into the most innovative treatment center of Sirona".
VDW's Marketing Director Pamela Marklew stated "We aim to simplify demanding endodontic treatments significantly and at the same time make them even safer.  RECIPROC® is a perfect example of this and the integration of functions in treatment centers is a step which supports our goal."

Treatment centers can be retrofitted

This cooperation is beneficial for dentists who either want to purchase the TENEO treatment center in the future or those who already work with TENEO. Why? Because the center can be retrofitted. Regardless of whether the functional package is already integrated for endodontics or implantology, an endo package for reciprocating preparation can be easily added. The benefits of this procedure are mainly its efficacy and reliability: Treatment is efficient, safe and carries significantly less risk of file breakage. What's more, absolute hygiene safety is guaranteed. The new endo package can be ordered now.

The companies

VDW resulted from the fusion of ANTAEOS®, BEUTELROCK®, and ZIPPERER® back in 1972 and offers the entire spectrum of endodontic products, from root canal access to post-endodontic treatment, from a single source. As an endodontics specialist with a wealth of experience gained from 145 years of R&D, VDW is an innovation driver in this field.
Maillefer was founded in 1889 by Auguste Maillefer, a watchmaker who became a dentist at the age of 48. As a provider of high-quality and innovative endodontic products, including precision instruments made of nickel-titanium alloys and complete solutions for root canal treatments, the company has been part of the Dentsply Group since 1995. Over the past decades Dentsply Maillefer has become one of the leading international companies in this sector.
Sirona is the global market and technology leader in the dental industry and has been a worldwide partner for dealers, dental practices, clinics, and dental laboratories for more than 130 years. Sirona develops and produces the complete spectrum of dental equipment products, including CAD/CAM systems for computer-assisted ceramic restorations (CEREC), digital imaging systems for intraoral and panoramic x-rays and volume tomography (3D), treatment centers, instruments, and hygiene devices.

Due to the different approval and registration times, not all products are immediately available in all countries.
