“Six Flags Over Georgia holds a special place in the hearts of many park guests and team members,” said Six Flags Atlanta Properties Park President Dale Kaetzel. “While the definition of thrills has certainly changed over the years, Six Flags Over Georgia continues to deliver experiences that span generations and stand the test of time.”

The park is celebrating the special occasion with a number of in-park events for guests and team members, including:

  • Opening the park Promenade and popular Georgia Cyclone roller coaster an hour early at 9:30 a.m. EDT;
  • A Grand Opening celebration for the company’s flagship 4,000 square foot Coaster Candy store with costumed characters, balloon artists and more;
  • A park opening celebration with state and local tourism leaders presenting a proclamation marking June 16, 2017 as Six Flags Over Georgia Day in the State of Georgia;
  • A look back over the past 50 years of thrills with the all-new “Can’t Stop The Feeling – 50 Years of Music and Memories” show in the historic Crystal Pistol Music Hall; and
  • A tribute to former and current employees with a special Anniversary Party and after-hours ride time on several of the park's most popular rides and attractions.

On this special day, Six Flags Over Georgia is also celebrating the innovations from the past 50 years, including the all-new JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle For Metropolis 4D high-action ride, which opened this season.

“The next 50-plus years will be just as fun and exciting. We look forward to creating new thrills and new memories for guests of all ages for decades to come,” said Kaetzel.

Six Flags Over Georgia is now open daily through August 6. Season Passes and All Season Dining Plans to Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags White Water are available online at www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia.
