“As a mirror image of the historic Coney Island Cyclone, the Georgia Cyclone has provided a unique wooden roller coaster experience for nearly nine million guests spanning many generations,” said Six Flags Atlanta Properties Park President Dale Kaetzel. “It will be sad to say goodbye to this classic coaster, but we are committed to maintaining our status as the Thrill Capital of the South for many years to come.”

The Georgia Cyclone, which opened in 1990, is nearly 100 feet tall and reaches speeds of 50 miles per hour. While the park is not disclosing what will take its place, Six Flags Over Georgia introduces a new, thrilling and innovative attraction each season, including the all-new JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle For Metropolis high action 4D ride that debuted in May.

Six Flags Over Georgia is now open for the final days of summer break through August 6. The park will be open on weekends beginning August 12. Season Passes and All Season Dining Plans for Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags White Water are available online at www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia.
