Skanska has signed a contract with New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) to rebuild the Rockaway Beach boardwalk in New York City, USA. The contract value, USD 202 M, about SEK 1.3 billion, will be included in order bookings for Skanska USA Building for the first quarter of 2014.

Skanska will rebuild nearly 8 kilometers of the Rockaway Beach boardwalk, which was damaged during Hurricane Sandy in October 2012. NYCEDC is managing the project on behalf of New York City Department of Parks & Recreation.

Construction begins in April 2014 and substantial completion is expected in spring 2017.
