Skanska has signed an agreement with the Swedish Transport Administration to construct a new railway passing station south of Sundsvall, Sweden. The contract is worth about SEK 320 million, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the first quarter of 2017.

The new passing station will increase railway capacity and relieve the heavily congested existing line.

Preparatory work is expected to start in late May 2017 and the entire project is scheduled for completion in July 2022.

Skanska is one of the leading development and construction companies in the Nordics, with operations in building construction and civil engineering in Sweden, Norway and Finland, and developing residential- and commercial property projects in select home markets. The commercial development stream is also active in Denmark. Skanska offers services in public-private partnerships. Skanska had sales of about 67 billion SEK and more than 15,000 employees in its Nordic operations during 2016.
