Last night, Sky Central (Sky's Osterley based HQ) was awarded not just the Corporate Workplace Award at the BCO Awards, but also their Best of the Best (overall) Award. The BCO judges loved the spirit of the building, in particular how perfectly the needs of colleagues were embodied and how universally valued it was amongst its users.

The BCO Awards recognises top quality office design and functionality and provides public recognition for excellence in workplaces.

At the regional stage earlier this year, Sky won awards for both Sky Central and its Digital Centre of Excellence in Leeds Dock - a double whammy that is no mean feat. The company then went on to be awarded the national crown for Sky Central.

Bella Vuillermoz, Director, Property Service Group, Sky, commented, 'It's hard to believe that we only opened the doors to our new HQ, Sky Central just over a year ago. It's an incredible space, built with a 'Believe in Better' spirit, enabling the flow of people and ideas, with great spaces, services and technology that make collaboration easy. It's all about making Sky a brilliant place to work.'

In Leeds Dock, the judges said they were blown away by what Sky had done to create a tech 'start-up environment' - reusing and transforming an empty retail unit, installing a new mezzanine floor- all to create a vibrant and successful workplace for employees.

The investment Sky has made in its workplaces has been recognised across the board with Sky Central taking home a number of industry awards in recent months, such as for the 'Creative Spaces' category (Estates Gazette), Mixology, and e-Fig (Interior Landscaping).
