Environmental sustainability is a key part of Sky's product innovation. The Sky+HD Box is an award-winning set-top box allowing our customers to quickly and easily browse, select and record all their favourite shows as well as a host of on-demand content and catch-up TV.

We've been working hard on improving the environmental credentials of this box - and we've just released our interactive Sky+HD Environment Factsheet to show the progress we've been making.

From initial product design right through to the reuse and recycling stage, we're thinking about how we can reduce our environmental impact. One of our key areas of focus has been in the customer use phase because we know this is where some of the greatest impacts occur. One of the main changes we've made is extend the automatic low energy eco-mode setting duration by 50%. This is part of our work to help drive product innovation while also reducing the impacts of our products in line with our 2020 environment targets.

Our commitment is led by our Director of Customer Technology, Roger Lambert, "At Sky, we continue to introduce innovative new products and services which deliver the best experience for customers, in the most sustainable way possible. This factsheet is a great way of communicating how environmental sustainability lies at the heart of our Sky+HD Box design".
