Sallie Mae, the nation’s saving, planning, and paying for college company, today announced a $5,000 contribution to Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The contribution supports the 2018 Easterseals/CAI Volleyball Challenge, an annual fundraiser that raises awareness and funds to provide critical services for children and adults with disabilities. In addition, Sallie Mae employees raised nearly $2,000 to support the company’s team participating in the challenge.

“Easterseals is dedicated to improving the lives of people of all abilities and the support from Sallie Mae each year goes a long way,” said Ken Sklenar, President/CEO, Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore. “This contribution, along with the company’s continued volunteer support, will enable us to continue to provide the best services for people with disabilities throughout the region.”

This is the eighth consecutive year Sallie Mae and its employees have participated in the Easterseals/CAI Volleyball Challenge. The annual event brings together more than 200 volunteers, nearly 100 companies, and more than 130 teams and corporate sponsors to run this successful event.

“Easterseals has a proven track record of helping people with disabilities live meaningful and productive lives,” said Martha Holler, senior vice president, Sallie Mae. “We are proud to continue our support as part of a broader commitment to volunteering and giving back in the communities where our employees live and work.”
