SLM Solutions Group AG: Multi-machine order from China

• Major order signed for 10 SLM 500 multi-laser ma­chines with total sales vol­ume of up to EUR 12 mil­lion

Lübeck, June 26, 2017 - SLM So­lu­tions Group AG ('SLM So­lu­tions'), a lead­ing sup­plier of metal-based ad­di­tive man­u­fac­tur­ing tech­nol­ogy, has re­cently signed a con­tract for a multi-ma­chine order for a total of 10 multi-laser ma­chines of the SLM500 model. The sys­tems are being mar­keted via a sales chan­nel part­ner in China. This is the first order in this mag­ni­tude that SLM So­lu­tions has re­ceived for the SLM 500 ma­chine type.

Since its IPO, SLM So­lu­tions has been pur­su­ing the goal of fur­ther es­tab­lish­ing it­self in Asia and is al­ready rep­re­sented there with sub­sidiaries in Sin­ga­pore, China and, since 2017, also in India. This major order is an im­por­tant step for fur­ther growth in the re­gion and is a proof for the high de­mand world­wide for ad­di­tive man­u­fac­tur­ing sys­tems suited for pro­fes­sional in­dus­trial ap­pli­ca­tions. The ma­chines are to be de­liv­ered to a cus­tomer China and are to be ac­cepted within the next 15 months.

The SLM 500 multi-laser ma­chines com­prise the largest ma­chine type that SLM cur­rently pro­duces. The ben­e­fits of multi-laser tech­nol­ogy for the cus­tomer de­rive es­pe­cially from pro­duc­tiv­ity due to si­mul­ta­ne­ous de­ploy­ment of up to four lasers with max­i­mum 700W out­put each, and the high qual­ity of the parts pro­duced. The ma­chines' per­for­mance en­ables pro­duc­tion costs per man­u­fac­tured com­po­nent to be op­ti­mised while at the same time of­fer­ing free­dom of geo­met­ric de­sign.
