SnowWorld is investing in an efficient new engine room in Zoetermeer

SnowWorld expects a higher operating result In connection to the half-year statement of 27 May 2015 ("SnowWorld maintains growth forecast after stable 1st half") SnowWorld herewith publishes its trading update for the first nine months of the financial year 2014/2015. SnowWorld is glad to be able to inform that the results of April until June 2015 are higher compared to last year. Given the results in the first nine months of the financial year and the bookings for the last quarter, SnowWorld expects to close the current financial year with a higher operating EBITDA and a higher net operating profit. The expected higher results are due to the increase in average spending per visitor and the savings on operating costs.

Financially, the first six months of the financial year (October to March) is by far the most important part of the year for SnowWorld. SnowWorld generates around 70% of its annual turnover in these six months. In the second half-year, the major activities were the training of the many thousands of athletes in Landgraaf, the operation of the climbing park in Landgraaf and the summer camps in Zoetermeer.

New engine room SnowWorld Zoetermeer

In June, SnowWorld signed an agreement with GEA Refrigeration for the construction of a new engine room for its branch in Zoetermeer. This installation will provide cooling for the slopes. The new engine room is expected to be put into operation in January 2016. The new installation is not only a lot more efficient, but also offers the possibility to use the waste heat produced to heat the restaurants and meeting rooms. The total investment amounts to approximately €1.8 million. To this end, ABN AMRO has extended SnowWorld's credit facility.

Progress of new developments

The process of extending the third slope of SnowWorld Zoetermeer is now in its final stage. After the draft-zoning plan and the draft integrated environmental permit were made open to public inspection and any questions answered, the Municipal Executive of the municipality has now submitted them for approval to the municipal council of Zoetermeer. The decision should be finalised by September already. In case of a positive decision, only an objection procedure at the Council of State is still possible.
The projects in Paris and Barcelona are not going smoothly. Recent local election results have meant that the procedures for amending the zoning plans have been temporarily halted. SnowWorld and its local teams are currently consulting with both city councils on how and when to continue.

Amendment of the articles association and potential dividend payments

Following a decision by the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 12 March 2015, the articles of association of SnowWorld N.V. have since been modified. The nominal value of the shares has been reduced in favour of a higher general reserve. This adjustment was necessary in order to be able to pay dividends in the future. The intention is to do this for the first time in the spring of 2016. To this end, SnowWorld will table a motion at the next Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.
