SoftBank Internet and Media, Inc. (“SIMI”) today announced the appointment of Rajeev Misra as the Head of Strategic Finance for SoftBank Group, effective November 3rd, 2014. In his role he will be working with SoftBank Group and SIMI to optimize long-term capital structure and financing strategy.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Misra was a Senior Managing Director and Partner in the Fortress Investment Group’s London office. Previously, he served as Global Head of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) at UBS between 2009 and 2013, where he expanded FICC’s team by nearly one-quarter, bringing in over 400 new employees and overseeing approximately 1,200 employees in total. Prior to that, he spent more than ten years at Deutsche Bank as Global Head of Credit and Emerging Markets, where he helped build Deutsche Bank into the pre-eminent investment bank in FICC globally.

Mr. Misra is a board member of both the University of Pennsylvania and MIT Sloan School of Management. He earned both a B.S in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania and received an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
