Software AG (Frankfurt TecDAX: SOW) today today announced the availability of webMethods 9.12 with significant enhancements, including support for enhanced mapping, out-of-the-box scripts to create Docker Integration Server images, and enhanced event-based integration with a new Digital Event Services communication layer.

webMethods 9.12 includes the first release of the unified webMethods API Gateway, combining the mediation and security capabilities from webMethods Enterprise Gateway and webMethods Mediator as a single, easily installable and configurable product.

Wolfram Jost, chief technology officer, Software AG, noted: 'This latest version of webMethods ensures that our customers have an extensible, scalable and reliable backbone for digital transformation, with improved support for API Management and the latest trends in integration architecture and deployment including microservices and containers.'

API Gateway offers service mediation, API lifecycle management and API policy definition, and enhanced support for API monetization, including the definition and management of API plans and packages.

webMethods 9.12 also adds new native Hadoop adapters and lightweight content integration adapters to popular content stores, as well as tighter integration between webMethods Trading Networks and Active Transfer. Plus, Universal Messaging adds support for round-robin message publishing using JMS-based connection factories for improved distribution of resources.

Other enhancements include an Agile Process business console to allow complete monitoring of BPM processes, and a new web user interface for Command Central Suite that enables simplified product installation for release 9.8 and later.

Jost concluded: 'webMethods 9.12 helps our customers to stay ahead of the digital transformation game, allowing them to evolve and grow as quickly as the marketplace and consumer behavior does.'
