SOFTWARE AG DARM : Software AG launches webMethods Business Events
03/01/2011 | 08:30am
Software AG today introduced webMethods Business Events, a product
targeted for the expanding market of complex event processing (CEP). By
correlating event data and identifying useful patterns across a
multitude of sources, webMethods Business Events enables organizations
to quickly adapt processes to changing conditions and react faster to
the needs of customers, partners and other stakeholders.
?Now more than ever, businesses and governmental agencies need to
understand everything that's happening around them – in real-time,? said
Dr. Wolfram Jost, Chief Technology Officer and member of the Executive
Board, Software AG. ?They cannot afford to misinterpret new patterns or
react late to unfolding opportunities. Pausing to analyze new
information or to decide the next course of action is rarely an option.?
According to Gartner, Inc.: ??organizations pursuing aggressive
information management, combined with pattern detection analysis, are
all outperforming their peers, based on various performance metrics, by
more than 25%.?1
To identify event patterns and deliver a holistic view, webMethods
Business Events performs continuous queries on the event streams, which
are then evaluated on-the-fly. This innovative approach ensures
predictable, traceable, repeatable and correct results every time. At
the core of webMethods Business Events is a proven and scalable CEP
engine, optimized for high-throughput and low-latency event processing.
?Though we're launching webMethods Business Events today, the product is
foundationally based on years of research and proven technology,? added
Dr. Jost. ?In early 2010, Software AG acquired RTM Realtime Monitoring
GmbH for its differentiating event processing engine. And, during the
past few months, we commercialized and integrated it with the
event-driven architecture (EDA) of our webMethods suite.?
By being tightly integrated with Software AG's product portfolio,
webMethods Business Events can further event-enable organizations with
real-time visualization of business events via the integrated,
interactive dashboard capabilities of ARIS MashZone. If the analysis of
both historical and current events is required, webMethods Business
Events can easily integrate with data warehouses or databases to provide
unprecedented insights, without a semantic break between live and
historical analysis. Finally, the integrity of events and event type
definitions can be managed and governed with Software AG's CentraSite
product.
