SolarWinds Closes 2016 with Recognition for Business and Product Excellence

AUSTIN, Texas - January 25, 2017 - SolarWinds, a leading provider of powerful and affordable IT management software, today announced the company recently received numerous honors from several leading publications and industry organizations. Specifically, the company has received accolades for business and product excellence from Government Security News, Virtualization Review, Database Trends and Applications, American Security Today, Vidyard, SC Magazine, and PR News.

In late December 2016, SolarWinds® Log & Event Manager and SolarWinds User Device Tracker won Government Security News' 2016 Homeland Security Awards in the Best Security Incident & Event Management (SIEM) Solution and Best Continuous Monitoring and Mitigation Solution categories, respectively. In addition, SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager was named a finalist in the Best Compliance/Vulnerability Assessment Solution category.

Also in late December, SolarWinds Virtualization Manager received the Editor's Choice Award from the editors of Virtualization Review.

'SolarWinds Virtualization Manager is the best tool around for managing heterogeneous virtualized environments,' said Brien Posey, who served as a judge for these awards. 'The software works equally well for managing both VMware® and Hyper-V.'

Earlier that month, Database Trends and Applications named SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer in its 'Trend-Setting Products in Data and Information Management for 2017 ' list. The annually produced list highlights leading vendors that are providing innovative products and services aimed at helping organizations derive more value from their data and get better performance from their systems.

In November, American Security Today selected SolarWinds Log & Event Manager as the platinum winner for Best Incident & Event Management Solution in its ASTORS Homeland Security Awards. The annual competition recognizes the most distinguished vendors of physical, IT, cyber, port-of-entry security, law enforcement, first responders, perimeter protection, and communications for their outstanding efforts to keep our country safe.

Also in November, SolarWinds was named the winner of the 2016 Video Marketing Awards in the Best Online Video Presence for a B2B Brand category. Presented at the Vidyard Viewtopia Video Marketing Summit 2016, the award honors the B2B organization using video most effectively across its website, social media, and other distribution channels to elevate its brand and increase overall audience engagement.

In addition, SC Magazine gave SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager a five out of five star rating and named it a 'Best Buy,' stating, 'For its clean, bare-bones, well-targeted functionality, extensive reporting and remediation capability at a very low cost of ownership, we make this one our Best Buy this month.'

Finally, in September, SolarWinds was an Honorable Mention for the PR News' 2016 Platinum PR Award in the Anniversary category for its efforts establishing IT Professionals Day. PR News' annual Platinum PR Awards recognize the year's most outstanding communicators, initiatives, and organizations in public relations. According to PR News, the coveted awards set a benchmark for excellence in communications.
