9 JUNE 2018 (SATURDAY) | 12:00PM

Sotheby's Hong Kong Gallery

HONG KONG, 24 May, 2018 Sotheby's Hong Kong is delighted to offer THE BURGUNDY COLLECTION on 9 June 2018. This superb collection showcases the most sought-after wines from Burgundy that come with impeccable provenance and storage. Wines on offer include DRC, Armand Rousseau, Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair, Comte de George de Vogüé and Leroy. Other highlights include a rare collection of René Engel's Grand Crus from the early 2000s and parcel lots of Joseph Drouhin Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2005. A small selection of the finest white Burgundy from Coche Dury and Raveneau are also available. Majority of the wines are from the finest vintages in 1990s and 2000s, such as 1990, 1999, 2002, 2005 and 2009.

Adam Bilbey, Sotheby's Asia Head of Wine, states, "We are thrilled to present this dream cellar of Burgundy's finest in a city that shows an insatiable thirst for these wonderful wines. Asian buyers claim 58% of Sotheby's worldwide wine sales last year, and we will continue to drive the growth in this thriving market."

Richard Young, Vice President, Senior Specialist of Sotheby's, says, "It is a great privilege to work with the consignor who has an endless pursuit for only the best bottles. The selection of wines in this auction shows a rare discipline, focusing on and following only a few Burgundy Domaines. This is a collection not to be missed by Burgundy lovers, both experienced and those who are beginning their journey."
