WICHITA, Kan., May 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. (NYSE:SPR), one of the world's largest non-OEM designers and manufacturers of aerostructures for commercial aircraft, has recognized 13 companies as 2011 Platinum Suppliers for their customer satisfaction and excellent performance in 2011. Spirit's mission to provide their customers with high-quality, cost-competitive products and services could not be accomplished without the support of a competent, innovative and reliable supply base.

The 13 companies were selected based on their performance in 2011 considering factors such as quality, on-time delivery, support, and willingness to partner with Spirit for overall improvement in value delivered to Spirit and subsequently to Spirit's customers. The 13 companies were honored Tuesday night in Wichita, Kan., at Spirit's Inaugural Supplier Recognition Event.
