(Reuters) - British power producer SSE said on Tuesday it would permanently close its 2-gigawatt Ferrybridge C coal-fired power plant on March 31 after 50 years in service.
SSE decided to close the ageing plant last May, citing number of factors, including expected losses as Britain increased taxes on carbon emissions.
