The Skelmersdale Partnership has been marketing the town centre proposals through its agents and has been having conversations with a great number of potential occupiers over the last 6 months.

Official statement:

Paul Batho, Projects Director for the Skelmersdale Partnership said:

"The Partnership has been working for some time now to bring forward this much needed scheme in the centre of Skelmersdale. The proposed Town centre expansion is seen by all as much needed as it will bring new retailing choice to the town as well as introducing a new quality public realm linking the College to the existing town centre.

"We are very close to being in a position to submit a planning application for our comprehensive proposals which will see a significant expansion of the town centre. Our scheme will bring with it significant new investment into the town as well as providing in excess of 500 new jobs targeted at local people.

As part of that process the Partners agents have sent out details of the scheme to a range of potential occupiers and where we have received a positive response discussions have taken place."
