Hassan Madhoun has joined Stantec's transportation team as an associate transportation engineer. Working from Stantec's Ottawa office, Hassan brings more than nine years of experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering to his new role.

'Hassan is passionate about creating transportation experiences,' says Gord Chamberlain, managing principal, transportation, at Stantec. 'He understands that the journey should be as enjoyable as the destination.'

Hassan's experience includes light rail transit, transportation demand management, and developing mobility and parking plans for mixed-use developments.

I'm eager to apply my expertise to diverse projects, from planning and designing for vibrant mixed-use developments, to assisting venues and special event organizers improve the transportation experience for their fans and visitors.'

Before joining Stantec, Hassan was the Transportation Demand Manager with the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) for the redeveloped Lansdowne and TD Place in Ottawa. With OSEG, Hassan created strategies to accommodate the unique transportation demands associated with special events, including for the debut of the Canadian Football Leagues' Ottawa REDBLACKS in 2014, and the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup Tournament. Prior to his role with OSEG, Hassan was a member of the City of Ottawa's Rail Implementation Office where he provided traffic engineering expertise and project management support for Ottawa's $2.13 billion Confederation Line Light Rail Transit Project.
