State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT) today announced the appointment of Ian Appleyard as executive vice president, global controller and chief accounting officer, effective May 9, 2018.

Appleyard will be responsible for leading financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and accounting operations and controls activities for State Street on a global basis. He will report directly to Eric Aboaf, State Street’s chief financial officer.

Appleyard has more than two decades of experience within the financial services industry. He will join State Street from Credit Suisse, where he currently serves as a managing director and a member of the finance leadership team, responsible for leading legal entity restructuring globally to meet regulatory requirements as well as the firm’s Brexit program.

Prior to Credit Suisse, Appleyard held senior positions at HSBC and JP Morgan. Appleyard has qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
