The Science Museum of Minnesota, in partnership with the California Science Center, NASA and other science museums, developed the exhibition to educate people about the challenges of living and working in space. The exhibit showcases a Stratasys 3D Printer to demonstrate how space explorers would be able to conveniently 3D print spare parts and tools.

“At a time when astonishing achievements in space exploration are making headlines, this exhibit invites you to experience what it’s like to live and work hundreds of miles from the Earth’s surface,” said Dr. Eric J. Jolly, president of the Science Museum of Minnesota. “The Stratasys 3D Printer makes a real connection, demonstrating how today’s innovations will pave the way for incredible possibilities in the future.”

The exhibit will feature Stratasys’ uPrint SE Plus 3D Printer and it will be on display over the next three years, making stops in California, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts through June 2018.

“The advancements in 3D printing over the past few years have surpassed expectations, and we continue to look toward the future and ask ourselves, 'What’s next?',” says Bruce Bradshaw, Stratasys Vice President of Marketing for North America. “Our partnership with the Science Museum of Minnesota is a commitment to provide a stimulating user-experience, which introduces thousands of people to 3D printing technology and its significance in space exploration.”
