11/30/2015 -SUEZ consolidates its position on the waste-to-energy market in France with the renewal of the contract to operate the energy recovery unit in the city of Caen, plus three other contracts in Brittany and the Paris region, worth a total of c. €400 million

SUEZ and the SYVEDAC have renewed their industrial partnership for the operation of the waste-to-energy unit in Colombelles near Caen, by signing a 15-year contract worth a total of €120 million. The contract provides for the development of the performance and the energy mix of the unit, with a view to producing more green energy and supplying new customers with electricity and steam. The renewal of this contract follows the contracts that SUEZ recently signed in Carhaix, Lamballe and Argenteuil.

Under the terms of the contract with the SYVEDAC, SUEZwill recover 120,000 tonnes per year of waste collected exclusively in local communities. Thanks to the use of a thermo-dynamic cycle for the first time in this type of facility inFrance, the waste-to-energy unit will produce:

- enough electricity to meet local needs and to cover 80% of the site's own needs

- steam used for urban heating in the locality of Hérouville-Saint-Clair (10,500 dwellings) and, ultimately, to heat market gardening greenhouses.

The energy recovery rate will reach 98%, delivering 252,000 MWh of green energy every year.
