SUEZ and the Fonds SUEZ Initiatives are attending the Convergences World Forum and will discuss innovative solutions to combat poverty and instability across the world. Taking place from 5 to 7 September, the 9th Forum will focus on successfully transitioning to sustainable cities and regions.

Launched in 2008, Convergences is a platform for discussion, mobilisation and advocacy in Europe, whose aim is to establish new areas of convergence between stakeholders from the public, private and solidarity sectors, as well as academics and the media, based on the goal of 'Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, Zero Poverty'. It promotes the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This year, the Convergences World Forum, which brings together 8,000 international stakeholders, experts and decision-makers every year, is focusing on the theme of transition to sustainable cities and territories.

SUEZ is taking part in two conferences:

  • 'Conflicts, insecurity and political consequences: what approach to global water governance?' - Pascale Guiffant, Deputy VP Sustainable Development and Reputation
  • 'Finite resources: what national policies are being designed to address the issue?' - Jean-Pierre Maugendre, Director of Sustainable Development Projects
