KDDI Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & Representative Director: Takashi Tanaka; hereinafter, 'KDDI') and Sumitomo Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kuniharu Nakamura) are currently engaged in the telecommunications business in Myanmar in partnership with Myanma Posts & Telecommunications (hereinafter, 'MPT').
LTE+, a service offering high-speed data transmission in the newly acquired 1.8 GHz band, has been available in Yangon, Mandalay, and Naypyidaw since the end of May, and this service will be expanded to about 30 cities nationwide by the end of September 2017. Customers will thereby enjoy high-speed data transmission via LTE in addition to their existing access to a high-quality 3G wireless network covering most of Myanmar.
With its high-speed data transmission service LTE+, MPT will become the first telecommunications company in Myanmar to introduce 4x4 MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology, enabling high-speed downstream data transmission of up to 150 Mbps (Note 1). Customers with LTE-capable devices will be able with LTE+ to make use of high-speed data transmission under their current service plans.

These companies remain committed to increasing customer satisfaction in Myanmar, advancing the country's economic and industrial development, and improving people's lives.
(Note 1) This is a best-effort service. The speed noted is the maximum value in terms of technical standards, and does not indicate the actual speed in use. Even within service areas, the customer's usage environment, traffic volume and other factors might substantially reduce speed.
